Fit To Run
THE STRENGTH TRAINING SYSTEM DESIGNED TO KEEP YOU ON TRACK
No matter if you are a seasoned runner or someone who is embarking on their first marathon, 10km or couch to 5km program the key to achieving your goals is being able to stay consistent with your training. While having a well thought training plan, good nutrition and factoring in appropriate periods of rest and recovery are huge factors, one of the biggest is ensuring your body is strong enough to tolerate your training.
Therefore, while many people run to get fit it’s just as important to ensure that you spend some time getting fit to run. This is the principle that defines our Fit To Run program.
Fit To Run program includes the following:
-
8-Week training plan requiring minimal equipment, suitable for anyone from newbie to seasoned trainer.
-
Access to our exclusive exercise demonstration library.
-
2 x mobility sessions per week to compliment your running and FitToRun programs.
The number one factor in being able to successfully undertake a running program is consistency. While this sounds obvious unfortunately injuries happen and derail the best of intentions and programs. The Fit to Run program has been designed to appropriately load and stimulate adaptations in key tissues and structures, with the aim of enhancing their ability to tolerate the demands placed on them. In addition it is important certain chains of muscles both work and move well together. To aid with this the program contains strengthening and mobility exercises that target these movements.
However, we understand that the most important thing to a runner is running and as such this program is there to supplement your training x2 per week with most of the program requiring minimal equipment. It doesn’t require a high level of strength training history and has been designed to be accessible to the beginner as well as the advanced runner and, while the addition of any new training stimulus can cause some short term muscle soreness as your body gets used to it, the aim was to develop a program that doesn’t take away from the quality and quantity of your running sessions.
Upon purchasing this program you will receive a PDF program detailing 8 weeks of mobility and strength training sessions along with an explanation of how to read and perform the program.
In addition, for both your mobility and strength work, you have full access to a private Informed Performance video library that shows clear demonstrations of how each exercise/mobility flow should be performed.
Lynsey Sharp – (800m runner; Double Commonwealth medalist, European Champion, World and Olympic Finalist)
Working with informed performance has been a rewarding experience, with the highest level of programming, their attention to my needs as a mature athlete and the ability to cater for the aches and pains that go hand in hand with running, it’s safe to say they are simply ELITE in their field.
Martyn Rooney – (Double European Champion, Multiple World Medalist, Olympic Bronze Medalist)
I’ve been working with informed performance for over 5 years now and in that time I’ve seen big improvements in my athletic performances. Strength and conditioning is often overlooked in endurance running but not only does it improve performance, it helps me cope with the demands that running up to 90mile weeks puts on my body in keeping me strong and robust.
